For many years we’ve been telling the world about digital transformation, about disruption, about how to cope with and manage change. Now in 2020 we find ourselves in the midst of the most disruptive event of the last 70 years. In all of this, we have a duty to take a step back and ask what disruption means for architects and architecture. While we’ve been telling the rest of the world about disruption, we’ve ignored its impact on ourselves. Can architecture possibly remain the same, with the same old frameworks and ideas that have survived since the late 1960’s?
